Owner Mike McCarthy founded the “Safe and Sober Graduation” program, coordinated in conjunction with Coast Hills Credit Union and local law enforcement agencies. Each year, McCarthy Wholesale donates a car to a Central Coast high school graduate for this campaign. McCarthy Wholesale has also donated a car to a needy family over the holiday season. In 2006, the recipients were chosen through the Family Care Network.
McCarthy’s also sponsors the Community Spotlight, a television PSA which highlights a Central Coast individual or an organization that is dedicated to the community. This commitment to community spawned the creation of Drive TV on Charter Channel 10. The Drive TV Network features cars and special programming that affects the Central Coast.
